201 stainless steel is known for its resistance to weak media corrosion, such as atmosphere, steam, and water. In contrast, acid-resistant steel refers to steel that withstands the corrosion of chemical corrosive media, including acids, alkalis, and salts.
The 201 stainless steel bar primarily consists of iron with a chromium content ranging between 16 and 18%, and less than 0.15% carbon. It also contains small amounts of manganese, nickel, silicon, nitrogen, and copper. Unlike the 304 or 316 grades, it can be hardened through cold working processes but is not heat-treated, offering higher formability than the 300 series grades. With high manganese and low nickel content, the corrosion resistance of 201 stainless steel is not as superior as the 300 series. These bars are widely utilized in the manufacturing of kitchenware, outdoor decoration engineering, urban decoration industry, and low-grade household products. Additionally, they find applications in medical instruments and automotive parts that require flexibility while maintaining strength under pressure.
