The FAW Volkswagen East China Base project laid the foundation in Qingdao, Shandong, and the factory was fully completed and put into operation in May 2018. The first phase of the East China Base covers an area of 1.1 million square meters, with a planned production capacity of 300000 vehicles per year. The overall planned investment is more than 10 billion yuan, and there are currently more than 3300 employees, with an average age of 28 years old. After reaching full capacity, it can achieve an annual output value of over 30 billion yuan. At the same time, the East China base has also attracted investment from supporting suppliers, forming an industrial agglomeration effect.
